Kollam - Alapuzha Trip

Travelling through the canals and backwaters of Kollam and Alapuzha is an enchanting experience.

Shangumugham Beach (Trivandrum)

Shankumugham Beach is a beach in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, south India. The beach is on the western side of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) city and very near to Trivandrum International Airport.

Kottiyoor Temple (Kannur)

One of the famous temples of Shiva located at about 65 Km from Thalassery. Festival here occur only once in a year during May-June.According to the Sthala Purana, it is supposed to be the location of the famous Yagna of Daksha, also called the Daksha Yagna or the Dakshayaagam.

Kuttanad, Alapuzha

Kuttanad is known as the granary of Kerala because this area was the largest producer of rice in Kerala. But currently the major share of rice is brought from other states especially, Andhra Pradesh. This is because, Kerala is now like a large township; its agricultural lands are rapidly being converted for building urban infrastructure. But even now this area is so beautiful and is a great target for tourists and photographers. With lots of water bodies in and around Alapuzha, its a must see place in Kerala. Here are some of the pictures I have taken from Kuttanad area.

Poovar (Thiruvananthapuram)

Poovar is a small coastal village in the Trivandrum district of Kerala state, south India. This village is almost at the southern tip of Trivandrum and there is not much distance from here to the Kerala - Tamilnadu border. This village has a beautiful beach which attracts tourists. There are also some good tourist resorts. Last week I happen to visit one of the resorts in Poovar  with some of my friends. It was an island close to the beach. Here are some of the pictures.

Tokyo Bay

This is the bay area of Tokyo. Its a must watch place for anybody travelling to Tokyo. This place I have taken from my archives and are not the most recent ones. Probably the bay area of Tokyo will be much more beautiful and sophisticated than what is shown here with sky city and other high rise buildings which have come up recently.I have visited this place many times, and to view this place at night is something which should not be missed out. There are plenty of places of interest in this area including the maritime museum, Toyota gallery etc. Some of these will be shown in few other posts which are yet to come.
