Kuttanad, Alapuzha

Kuttanad is known as the granary of Kerala because this area was the largest producer of rice in Kerala. But currently the major share of rice is brought from other states especially, Andhra Pradesh. This is because, Kerala is now like a large township; its agricultural lands are rapidly being converted for building urban infrastructure. But even now this area is so beautiful and is a great target for tourists and photographers. With lots of water bodies in and around Alapuzha, its a must see place in Kerala. Here are some of the pictures I have taken from Kuttanad area.

A small pond which is a source of water for fields

A road which passes through the center of the field

Ducks being breed in a canal

A view of the paddy field
